Celebrated my birthday at the Shout House with the best people in the world last night.
Also, great photo bomb by the dude in the stripes behind me. Hahaha
If someone were to ask me what I’d considered my best skill, I’d have to say it’s my ability to surround myself with amazing people.
This morning I woke up to flowers & funfetti cake from my roommate. She even used my favorite vase that she made (she does glass blowing). We’ll be baking together tonight. :)
I came home from work and finally opened my present from Kristi, which arrived on Monday. As I opened it, I was confused - the top of the gift looked like Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, which I had bought for HER two years back. After going through the maze of cards, I discover she got her copy of the book signed for ME because she knew how much I loved Chuck Klosterman.
And, in a little bit, Amanda and Jacob will be coming over to continue the celebrations.

My cousin bought me a bottle of Belvedere! It’s so pretty!
We obvs didn’t drink it last night, but we definitely drank plenty. More than plenty haha.
We hit 2 bars, the one my brother works at and another 2 blocks from it. My brother surprised me with red velvet cake (mmm) and the whole bar sang happy birthday to me. It was awesome. I was shocked. They also heavily discounted our tab at my brother’s bar (it was $30 instead of $100+…) which was amazing!
I remember everything that happened at the bars…except one thing. When I was putting my jacket away this morning I found this pinned to it:
I have NO idea where it came from. That picture of me (sans pin) was taken around 11:30pm and we went home around 12:45am so in the span of an hour I managed to get it. I quite like the pin, though. It’s cute! Thanks whoever gave it to me!

My first legally purchased beer!
The guy at the register asked for my ID then got so excited it was my birthday. He was even more excited that he served me my first (legal) beer. It was precious!
(The beer was only $4, I bought lunch too haha)
Let me first apologize for 1) being so awkward; and 2) it being so dark. I can’t explain away my awkwardness, but it’s dark because my desk lamp broke. In any case, happy birthday! Happy birthday to me!
My family surprised me with my own cake - my first ever on thanksgiving! Normally they just stick some candles in the pie.
I also got some amaaazing presents from my fam, including a pearl bracelet to round out my set.
The first birthday celebration! I can’t believe I turn 21 in less than a week!

I had to email my lab professor for the syllabus despite school not starting for a few weeks.
She emails me back right away and I start scrolling through.
I read the following:
“3. Exams: there will be cumulative final, worth 25% of the final grade, on Dec 2nd.”
I turn 21 on Dec 1st.
God dammit.
Sigh.
